The Cardinals are clearly taking a patient approach with Carson Beck early on, but there were still some encouraging signs.
Beck was working behind Gardner Minshew and Kedon Slovis during the first OTA session as the team eases him into things, which is not surprising for a rookie quarterback stepping into a new system. Even so, there were positive reviews about how he handled the operational side of things, especially hearing play calls through the helmet communication system for the first time and relaying information cleanly. The biggest takeaway is that Beck looked comfortable. The coaching staff seemed pleased with how he processed information and got the offense lined up, which is often the first hurdle for young quarterbacks. He is not pushing for immediate reps with the starters, but early signs suggest he is handling the mental transition well. For dynasty and long term fantasy purposes, that is the kind of quiet progress you want to hear at this stage.
