Maye and Brown have really progressed in their chemistry the last three days.
Meanwhile it's still been a work in progress with fellow wide receiver addition Romeo Doubs. Saturday was the first day that it felt like things took a step in the right direction for the Maye-Dobbs connection as they hit on a couple of quick timing routes. Those are the kinds of routes Doubs projects to major in in the Patriots' offense. Consistency will be key, but this was a good sign for the duo. However, it wasn't all positive for Doubs. After one of his catches Christian Ellis knocked the ball out, forcing a fumble. Doubs was clearly frustrated with himself after that day.

With a laundry list of receivers absent this week, the Patriots had to rotate their receivers more in Tuesday’s practice. That’s likely the reason why Stefon Diggs was practicing with the second-team offense. For the first time in 18 days of training camp, Diggs worked with the backup unit, led by Joshua Dobbs. He wasted no time making an impact. The veteran receiver finished with a camp-high four receptions on Tuesday. The first snap Diggs took with Dobbs, he ran a deep crossing route and immediately caught a first-down pass. He added another nice catch with the second unit. Diggs also caught two passes from Maye on Tuesday. The first was on a quick slant route. The second was a deep post route where Diggs caught a pass with cornerback D.J. James right on his hip for a first down.
