Williams had a slow start to the season, but his fantasy value has been on the rise.
The Lions' wide receiver rotation has been predictable this season. They've run 201 plays out of 11 personnel, and Amon-Ra St. Brown, Williams and Isaac TeSlaa have shared the field for 200 of them. Williams and St. Brown are almost always on the field in 12 personnel, with most of their breaks coming in 13 personnel. Williams had a slow start to the season. His pre-snap usage hasn't changed, and even his target rate has barely moved. The only difference is that he's received more deep targets. After receiving three deep targets over the first three weeks, he's received five over the last two. His average depth of target was between 11. 8 and 14. 2 yards over the first three weeks. It rose to 17. 0 last week and 32. 5 in this game. He caught one of his deep targets for a 39-yard touchdown and added a 9-yard touchdown catch. Ideally, Williams can start making plays after the catch like he did last season, as he's averaged just 1. 1 yards after the catch per reception this year. Until then, he can still have value if he's making long receptions.
