The Bucs went with more heavier sets this week relying on two-tight end sets and sometimes even three-tight ends.
They tried this in Week 3 and it didn’t work as much, but it really paid off on Thursday night. Cade Otton was in often at 92%, while Payne Durham’s 38% was the second highest he had all season. Bauer Sharp was at his usual 6%.
Pewter Report·
The Bucs went back to their regular usage at tight end after going more 12 personnel a week ago. This time it was just Cade Otton with very little snaps for Payne Durham. For whatever reason, Otton has become the focal point of Tampa Bay’s passing game, as he led the team with 37 receiving yards on four catches. Despite having talents like Chris Godwin Jr. and Hurst, Otton is second on the team in targets with 23, just one behind Egbuka, but is three receiving yards ahead of Egbuka for the team lead at 157.
