While Murray would have been sacked on the drill that had the ball on the 6-yard line, McCarthy was able to find Jordan Mason for a
touchdown pass. McCarthy also was a perfect 4-for-4 in 7-on-7, completing passes to Josh Oliver, Aaron Jones, Jefferson and Ben Yurosek. In a late team session, McCarthy went 3-for-4 and connected with Dontae Fleming on a deep out down the left side. McCarthy finished that sequence by just missing a diving Gavin Bartholomew on a throw deep down the right side.

A sleeper wide receiver to keep an eye on in the preseason is Dontae Fleming. He has flashed on numerous occasions with his route-running and his ability to adjust when the ball is in the air and make plays.
