Davis has arguably been the most pleasant surprise in training camp.
He signed with the Bears in mid-June after spending a couple months with the United Football League's Houston Gamblers. Davis, who has been taking reps with the No. 1 offense, has played three NFL regular season games with the Browns over the past two seasons. "Kaden was a great acquisition that the front office made," Hightower said. "He works his tail off, really a joy to be around. He's like a sponge. There's a kid that [has been] released or cut from multiple teams but has fought time-in and time-out. I've got an ultimate respect for Kaden Davis." The path Davis has traveled reminds Hightower of receiver and return specialist Kalif Raymond. Rome Odunze said previously that Davis is consistently one of the fastest players on the team at practice.

One player who has made a good impression in training camp so far has been wide receiver Kaden Davis. The 27-year-old has bounced around the NFL and USFL over the past few years and earned an invite to training camp this year. He's taken advantage of it. Davis has been one of the standouts in camp so far, building some chemistry with Tyson Bagent. On Saturday, that carried over into game action as he caught four of his six targets for 88 yards, including a long of 41. He has an uphill battle to climb in terms of making the roster but this performance should help his case a little bit. The next step for him will be to carry this into another week of practice, including the joint practice against Cincinnati this week.
