Alec Lewis mentioned on the Vikings flagship radio station that it was a mild surprise the Vikings weren’t able to get something done
regarding a trade. It’s not a surprise that they weren’t willing to part with him for just anything, especially with the likes of Kyle McCord and Quinn Ewers fetching sixth-round picks. What will end up happening with McCarthy? We still don’t know, but I would be surprised if he was on the Vikings much longer.

Sturdivant repeatedly created opportunities and became Tyrod Taylor’s primary target during the second-team two-minute drill. Before that period, he beat Jaylin Simpson for a touchdown in one-on-ones and caught a fourth-down pass from Kyle McCord after separating for the conversion. During the two-minute drive, Sturdivant caught an approximately 10-yard pass and then made a sliding grab on a deep throw down the right sideline that was credited down to the opponent’s 16-yard line. A replay indicated he likely came down out of bounds before getting a knee down, meaning it probably would have been overturned in a game, but the practice did not use challenges. Taylor later delivered a potential touchdown to the back of the end zone, but Sturdivant appeared to lose track of his location and landed with his feet out of bounds. The route and throw created a legitimate scoring chance, but his boundary awareness prevented him from completing it.
