Nate Atkins·
Connors has had an interesting upward trajectory.
He first broke out as a high school track star, and when he wasn’t getting football offers playing in Hawaii, he moved to Los Angeles and landed an offer from Rice. After two 700-plus-yard rushing seasons there, he transferred to Houston and led the Cougars with 977 yards and six rushing touchdowns on 4. 9 yards per carry. His 147 career catches illustrate a receiving game where those track skills pay off. He posted a 4. 45-second 40-yard dash at his pro day. Those track skills could open a possible special teams development project for new coordinator Bubba Ventrone, if Connors sticks around on the practice squad.
