Baltimore started the season with Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman as its top two receivers, with Ja’Kobi Lane joining them in three receiver
sets. That quickly unraveled with Lane landing on injured reserve after Week 1, and Flowers was out for Week 2 with a hamstring injury. Devontez Walker seemed to be the next man up, but he started the season dealing with an injury. This led Bateman, Chris Moore and LaJohntay Wester to be the primary receivers as Walker was eased in. Fourth-round rookie Elijah Sarratt was buried on the depth chart. Flowers was back last week, but was being eased into action. Flowers had a larger role this week, playing 93. 5% of snaps in 11 personnel. He was rotated out for a few plays in 12 personnel, with most of his time missed being in 13 personnel. This led Wester to barely have a role on offense. While every fantasy manager who had Flowers likely started him this week, he can safely be put back in fantasy starting lineups. Moore couldn't play this week due to an ankle injury. He was limited in practice all week and was ruled questionable on Friday, but ultimately couldn’t go. This meant Walker was forced to move up to third on the depth chart, while Sarratt was active this week as the fourth receiver. Surprisingly, Bateman’s role was reduced this week. Bateman had played 85. 8% of snaps over the first three weeks, with 98. 8% of snaps in 11 personnel and 83. 9% in 12. Walker was ahead of Bateman in 11, 12 and 13 personnel, leading Bateman’s playing time to drop to 47. 6%. Sarratt also rotated in significantly in 11 personnel. This makes Bateman a player to drop in most leagues where he is still rostered.
