Colston Loveland more consistently lined up in 11 personnel over Cole Kmet compared to the first three weeks, leading to Loveland playing
92. 5% of snaps. This was the highest rate for a game in Loveland’s career, which is remarkable considering Chicago ran 93 offensive plays.

The sample size is one game, but for all the attention given to Williams’ ability to complete more throws and do so at a higher rate, it was a rousing success. His completion percentage of 72.6 against Carolina was the best for a Bears quarterback in a season opener since Jim Harbaugh in 1990. Williams completed 21 of 29 (including three intentional throwaways). He checked down on several occasions. When he got on the move, scramble-drill throws to Rome Odunze and Kalif Raymond were accurate. He made a perfect, in-structure throw to Cole Kmet for a 22-yard TD. One miss he flagged: Colston Loveland open early in the third, pass behind him. “You don’t get those opportunities too often… So you’ve got to hit those.”
