Brown was on last week’s list after a two-touchdown game against the Seattle Seahawks.
On Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals, Brown caught two more passes for 77 yards. The bulk of that production came on a 70-yard reception in a scramble drill. The second catch was more impressive. Brown came open on a crossing route against zone coverage. Quarterback Joe Milton III completed to Brown at the numbers. Cardinals safety Wydett Williams Jr. drove on Brown from deep-field alignment. Williams delivered a huge hit. Brown hung on. Later in the second quarter, Brown beat Cardinals cornerback Kei’Trel Clark on a double move on the outside. He was open for a touchdown. Milton, though, was flushed from the pocket, and a late throw to Brown sailed out of bounds. Brown is in a potential roster battle with Cowboys receiver Jonathan Mingo, who had two catches for 62 yards and a touchdown Saturday. Brown could make the roster as Dallas’ sixth receiver. He could beat out Mingo for the fifth spot. Brown would be an attractive waiver option if he gets cut.
