Las Vegas tight ends Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer were taken out in garbage time, which notably impacted their playing time.
Their roles should return to normal in games where the Raiders aren’t blown out.
In 11 personnel, Mayer played nine snaps compared to four for Bowers, with only one of Bowers’ snaps coming on third down. The Raiders ran 52 snaps out of 12 personnel. Ian Thomas mixed in for nine of those plays to give the Raiders’ tight ends a break. Las Vegas also ran four plays out of 13 personnel. This left Bowers with a ridiculous 94.7% route participation rate, the best for a tight end in a game this season.
