Pittsburgh running back Rico Dowdle sat out due to a toe injury, his third straight absence.
He was limited in practice all week and was ruled questionable, but was ultimately inactive. The Steelers activated running back Lew Nichols from the practice squad to be the backup. Jaylen Warren dominated offensive snaps, similar to the last two weeks.
Warren’s workload has been heavy; McCarthy hopes Dowdle practices and plays this week Mike McCarthy: “He's the man. He's hauling it right now for us. There's a number you like to continue to give him. He's produced. So it's been heavy. It'll be great to get Rico back this week too. I'd love for Rico to practice this week and, hopefully, be up for the game. Yeah, he was close. Having him as a one-two punch was the vision of this offense, but Jaylen's crushing it right now. He's been awesome for us.”
