Daniels deserves a lot of credit for playing the way the Bucs needed him to within the confines of this particular game.
Dallas’ defense is atrocious, which means you will have something available on nearly every play. The key to success is taking what the defense gives you and not forcing things, which Daniels did consistently. Daniels (19 for 25, 189 yards) didn’t put the ball in harm’s way and made some big throws in key situations, none bigger than a third-and-21 conversion midway through the third quarter when Tampa Bay led 21-10. He also used his legs to convert a third-and-4 in the fourth quarter to move the Bucs deeper into Cowboys territory.

The first pass thrown Emeka Egbuka’s direction last Sunday was intercepted by Packers safety Evan Williams midway through the first quarter. It was poor execution — underthrown and late. Egbuka did not see another football aimed his way until the two-minute warning near the end of the first half. Two targets and no catches in two quarters of play for the 2025 first-round draft pick and No. 1 receiver on the Bucs. But it’s not up to rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels to get the football to Egbuka. That task belongs to offensive coordinator Zac Robinson. So far this season, he has shut down Egbuka better than any defensive coordinator could do in his dreams....The Bucs are struggling to find a way to replace receiver Mike Evans, who signed with the 49ers as a free agent. Egbuka, even if he doesn’t play the X position (split wide opposite the tight end), should become that go-to guy in the passing game.
