The Buccaneers placed wide receiver Jalen McMillan on injured reserve on Wednesday.
McMillan missed Week 1, played seven snaps in Week 2 and only managed two snaps last week before suffering his PCL injury. He is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks.
Pewter Report·
Jalen McMillan’s extended absence clears a cleaner path for Ted Hurst III, and the Daniels start gives that path more teeth. Hurst already has more rapport with Daniels from rookie minicamp than the veteran starters do, and the production has been climbing in quiet ways: 3 catches for 36 yards against Cincinnati in Week 1, 2 for 27 against Cleveland in Week 2, then the team’s only touchdown in Week 3 on a 40 yard catch and run against Minnesota. Through three games he sits at 6 catches for 103 yards and that score on 13 targets, with 17.2 yards per reception. If Daniels looks for comfort early, Hurst is one of the first places the ball can go while Godwin and Egbuka still build timing with the new quarterback.
