The Dallas Cowboys have had some trouble keeping tight ends on the field as both Michael Trigg and DJ Rogers are dealing with injuries.
Trigg was highly impressive in his first preseason game, but he has since been dealing with a toe injury, and it remains to be seen how serious that injury might be. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him land on the injured reserve list and for the Cowboys to treat this as a "redshirt" year for him.
I was especially sad to see tight end Michael Trigg miss the contest, as he opened a lot of eyes in Week 1 and appeared to be pushing Luke “The Snap Stealer” Schoonmaker for the last tight end spot on the 53-man roster. I’m not sure if the Cowboys are looking to stash Trigg or if it was just unfortunate timing, but I really believe Trigg’s big body and reliable hands can enable him to impact the Cowboys offense in ways Schoonmaker has proven incapable of doing thus far in his career.
