The odd man out here is 2025 draft pick DJ Giddens, who has been slowed by injury in the preseason and is not as versatile as McGowan or
Bentley. McGowan looks like a candidate to offer some real relief in the backfield after Taylor's heavy workloads the past two seasons.
Joel Erickson·
Bentley IV has made his strongest impression as a passing-down running back. He produced another impressive catch during seven-on-seven work against the Patriots and has consistently shown that he can catch passes and handle pass protection. He is not the same style of runner as DJ Giddens, but his ability to contribute in the passing game gives him a defined role in the roster competition. That has become especially important while Giddens is unavailable.
