In terms of the line’s performance in the run game, Denver’s 1.
53 yards rushing before contact per attempt is No. 10 in the league and the backs are averaging 0. 5 yards less than expected per carry, which is tied for No. 29.... To me, this adds up to two things being true at the same time: The Broncos’ offensive line has been solid overall and, to my eye, isn’t the biggest issue in the running game.... One thing is clear so far this fall: The Broncos need more from Dobbins. If they don’t in the next couple of weeks, the door is wide open for Jonah Coleman when he returns from an ankle injury.

Injury: High Ankle Sprain Expected Time Missed: Out Week 3. Coleman will miss Week 3 with an ankle injury and was placed on the injured reserve with a high ankle sprain. High ankle sprains impact the stability of the ankle, particularly the relationship of the tibia and fibula on the foot. Colemans situation is interesting, as he was not initially belived to be seriously injured and was seen walking around normally, but just yesterday was placed on the IR and will miss at least four weeks. One can wonder if his injury is truly this serious, of if Denver needed to open some roster space in the interm. Our data set of 60 running backs coming off of high ankle sprains surprisingly shows no performance decline from a fantasy standpoint, so while re-injury will be a risk, Coleman still has potential to be valuable later in the season.
