After nearly reaching the quarter pole of the season, it’s become evident that Sean Mannion ’s Eagles offense is disjointed, unimaginative,
and ultimately, ineffective.... But the offense has reached an inflection point after its regression in each of the first four games, and it’s on the figureheads at the top to decide where to go from here. Should Sirianni allow Mannion to fully implement the Kyle Shanahan scheme that was at the core of his hiring? Or should they just abandon the under-center heavy system that has been woefully unproductive thus far?
Not to become the multiple TE sets guy but most of the league's best offenses are going toward heavy sets just as the #Eagles lean the furthest into being an 11-personnel offense. The Eagles' offense has used 11 personnel on a league-high 76.7% of snaps under new OC Sean Mannion this season, opting to use multiple tight end sets on just 22.1% of snaps, the third-lowest rate in the NFL. They have averaged 5.5 yards per play when featuring 11 personnel, slightly below the league average of 5.7. When using 12 personnel, they have averaged just 2.8 yards per play, the second-fewest in the NFL, more than only the Dolphins (2.3), though they have out-snapped the Dolphins 36 to 11 in that grouping.
