If consequences came from Swift's error — he didn't play on any of the Bears' final 39 offensive snaps Sunday — the page is now turning.
Fellow running back Kyle Monangai — who posted 92 of his career-high 146 yards Sunday after Swift's exit — has missed the last two practices with thumb and toe injuries. Swift's readiness to resume a leading role this weekend against the Green Bay Packers continues to be tested. Early this week, when Bears coach Ben Johnson was asked how Swift could re-earn opportunity after last weekend's turnover, he left the answer open-ended. "We'll see what it looks like throughout the week," Johnson said. "Each role is determined through the week of practice." The Packers allow 139. 3 rushing yards per game, which is bottom five in the league. Over his first 34 games with the Bears, Swift fumbled only four times on 494 rushes. In Weeks 2-4: two fumbles on 51 carries. The Bears now will walk into Lambeau Field with an offense that leads the league in rushing attempts (159) and rushing yards (785).
